Trainers & the Team - The Full Team
Spigot Lodge may be steeped in racing history, but it is one of the most forward-looking and best equipped yards in the country. Really committed to success, with 900+ winners to date. Our preferred flat trainer.
His track record over the last 25 years speaks for itself. 2,000+ total career wins; 1,000+ wins in the last decade; £15m total prize money since the turn of the century; very much the lead National Hunt trainer for Owners for Owners.
Only three trainers have had a 25% + strike rate in recent seasons: Willie Mullins, Nicky Henderson and Anthony Honeyball. That, plus excellent facilities and intense commitment, justified adding Anthony to our trainer roster. We wish him well.
His whole approach to training has been strongly influenced by David Nicholson. Martin rode for him as a jockey, and now trains at his Condicote Stables. He excels with staying types, and is attracting a better quality of horse, most notably Champion Court.
Moved to a purpose-built yard at Hull Farm, near Chipping Norton, in 2009 and is now one of the most exciting young NH trainers in the country. Had a disappointing second half of the latest season, but a 20% strike rate before that.
Team leader at the 165-acre, 25 paddocks Kingwood Stud near Lambourn. Superb facilities supported by top trainers Nicky Henderson, Alan King and Richard Hannon. Rode 100+ winners. Expert in all aspects of horse welfare, breeding and pre-training.
Since moving to Folly House in 2011, has gone from strength to strength. Great facilities at Lambourn; investing in the yard and just had his best-ever season, including the Cheltenham Festival winner Present View. A rising star in the NH ranks.
